I was born and raised in Humboldt County, where I met my wife, Michelle, in 1983 and raised my children. My early work experience came from working in the timber industry, first in a local mill and then working in the woods. I started Custom Stump Grinders in 1995. With years of experience and a keen attention to detail, I’ve gained the expertise to deliver fast, efficient, and professional stump grinding services, ensuring high-quality workmanship and peace of mind for our customers. I’m proud of our small, family-run business and grateful for the support we've received from the community over the years.
My Name is Scott High
I was born in 1989 and am a proud Humboldt County local. I graduated from McKinleyville High School in 2007, where I developed a love for our beautiful natural surroundings and the tight-knit community. I’ve enjoyed exploring everything Humboldt has to offer, from its stunning coastlines to its lush redwood forests. I married my best friend, Lindy in 2020, but I’ve been working for our family business, Custom Stump Grinders since 2018.
My Name is Lindy High
Born in Sonoma County, I moved to Humboldt County with my mom, Michelle, in 2010. I graduated from Arcata High School and have been a dedicated part of my family’s small business, Custom Stump Grinders, since 2011, assisting in just about every aspect of the business. I love traveling with my husband, but nothing compares to the natural beauty of our home here in Humboldt. My husband Scott and I are proud locals who enjoy staying involved in our community and supporting the place we call home.
My Name is Michelle Aiton
I’m proud to be part of Custom Stump Grinders, a small family-owned business based in Eureka, California. Alongside my husband, Russell Aiton, my daughter Lindy High, and son-in-law Scott High, we’re dedicated to providing reliable, professional stump grinding services to our community. I was born and raised in Eureka, and after spending several years in Sonoma County, I returned home and married Russell in 2010. For the first five years, I worked out in the field grinding stumps with Russell, gaining hands-on experience. Today, I manage the office and serve as the main point of contact for our customers—when you call Custom Stump Grinders, I’m the voice you’ll hear. I also accompany Russell on estimates, so chances are I’ll be one of the first faces you meet as we help you reclaim your outdoor space.
